Trent Dawson in "The Homecoming"

In his third play since As the World Turns went off the air, Trent Dawson (aka Henry Coleman) is returning to Center Stage in Baltimore for Harold Pinter's play The Homecoming:

"Who says you can’t go home again? Prodigal son Teddy returns to London to visit the family, with his new American wife in tow, but finds more than he bargained for. Roles reverse, long-buried secrets surprise, and words become weapons in Harold Pinter’s tough, sexy, and surprisingly funny modern classic, which feels like it could have been written tomorrow."

The show runs from January 26 through February 20.  See the Center Stage website for more details and to order tickets.

Michael Park in "Middletown"

Shortly after finishing up The Last Goodbye: A Musical Adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, Michael (Jack, ATWT) has been cast in the new play Middletown by Will Eno. Previews begin on October 13 at the off-Broadway Vineyard Theatre. More information and tickets are available at the theatre's website, which describes the show as:

From Pulitzer Prize-finalist Will Eno (THOM PAIN (based on nothing)), comes a deeply moving and funny new play, exploring the universe of a small American town. As a friendship develops between longtime resident John Dodge (Linus Roache) and new arrival Mary Swanson (Heather Burns), the lives of the inhabitants of Middletown intersect in strange and compelling ways. A powerful and poignant meditation on birth, death and points between, MIDDLETOWN is a remarkable new play from one of our finest young theatrical voices featuring Linus Roache (“RFK” “Law & Order”) and Heather Burns (“Miss Congeniality”, MARRIAGE OF BETTE AND BOO).

Emily O'Brien in "The Bedroom Window"

Emily O'Brien, The Young and the Restless' Jana, is currently appearing in the new musical The Bedroom Window at the Odyssey Theater in Los Angeles. The show runs through September 26, with a special Y&R night on September 3 that offers the opportunity to meet Emily and other Y&R cast members. Emily plays the role of Gwen, described as:

Gwen, a young writer who is fresh out of graduate school, is poised and ready to start the next phase of her life that has been more or less scripted by her well-to-do family. She moves in with George, her longtime boyfriend and rising star in her father's company, just as has been intended for quite some time. As she returns to her old home, she is also reconnected with her old life, and the people in it – namely her brother, Johnny, and her best friend, Michael. Though they all want things to be like they were before she left two years before, they simply are not. Each has changed, some more than others, some in ways not welcomed, and they all struggle with the discrepancy between expectations, yearnings, and reality. In the midst of this less than ideal transition back into her old life, Gwen's world is turned on its head when she meets Porter, a carefree painter whose life philosophy is a stark contrast to the life on which she is about to embark – and as their romance blossoms she begins to nurture the true side of her that she was about to stifle with caviar and pearls.

The Bedroom Window is a new musical that explores the sacrifices, necessities and choices involved in change and growth - in short, growing up.

TV Guide is reporting that Maura West has been (re)cast as Diane Jenkins on The Young and the Restless. She will begin airing on October 8 as Victor's ex and the mother of Jack's son Kyle. Welcome!

We've opened this blog as a way to keep track of and get the word out for our favorite soap actors, specifically from As the World Turns. Just because our beloved show is leaving the airwaves doesn't mean that we can't see our favorite actors from that and other shows in other performances.
